Contemporary landscapes
made with the rigorous principles of Japanese garden design

Gardens are never “done.” they are living, active spaces. They mean so much to us because they’re constantly growing and changing.

I design and maintain gardens for the experience of timeless beauty and unceasing renewal.

ABOUT→

As the head gardener for Seattle Japanese Garden for nearly a decade, I’ve pruned 100-year-old pines, created teppo-gaki fencing, and set stone paths. I’ve also guided a team in renovating the shoreline and contributed features big and small. Every detail keeps this garden intact and evolving beautifully into the future.

Pruning is the most fundamental maintenance work in any garden.  It is the ongoing management of some of the most dynamic elements in a garden.
